Any one out there in the Louisville/Jefferson Co. area?
Working with a family who has just been introduce to the mental health/ special education systems.
Single parent/ female -so overwhelemed and feeling very alone.
School has introduced threre JCPS parent liaison to her, but she seems too busy to be involved. Parent willing to work with the system to get the services her 15 yr old daughter needs. Daughter pleading for help and understanding.
I was once a member of your organization and it was a great relief to know there were other families out there with simular situations to mine. I received so much from your organization and IMPACT program. Debbie and Carol made me feel good about me as a parent advocate. Once I became involved things seemed to be so much eaiser. I really want this parent and child to received some conversational support/understanding. HELP

Sorry for such a delay in responding. Titerrial Macklin is the Family Liaison at Seven Counties and should be able to tie this parent into the right resources. We all have some parent leaders in that regionas well. If you look at the Resources section of this website and click on Jefferson County, you should be able to find some support groups, etc. that might help.
Good to hear from you Dea. Hope you are doing well!
