Michael, In the hot topics

Michael, In the hot topics section of this website on page 2, there are two articles on suicide. Below is some information that you might not have thought about.

"It is estimated that for every one person who commits suicide, at least six others are immediately affected by their decision. They could be family, friends, or co-workers, and all are left to cope with the terrible loss of someone they cared about. Survivors of suicide are those people who are left behind when someone chooses to take their own life, and are left to deal with the grief and loss of someone important in their lives. Each year’s suicides bring about an estimated 186,000 new survivors. Survivors of suicide are often left behind with feelings of guilt about not having done something more to prevent their loved one from taking their own life. If only they had talked to the person more or gotten them some other means of help, that maybe that person would still be here."

Please remember that your decision affects many other people; people that love you. Please reach out for help!

Please talk to someone

Michael, please talk to someone, right now, today. If there is any way for you to get to a phone please call 1-800-273-TALK. If you can't get to a phone please go to the site http://www.metanoia.org/suicide/ There you can find a link to The Samaritans in which you can talk to someone online. They also have a link to Talk to a Therapist online. Please do not give up and just try one of these things, you will see that you are not alone and that someone wants to help.

Michael, I also want to

Michael,
I also want to encourage you to talk to someone. Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. Life will not always feel this way. I know someone who has had severe depressive episodes and have seen his overwhelming sadness. With the right help, life can get better. You will be in my prayers at this moment and tonight. Please reach out for help.
